The partners in the Community Interest Company (CIC) initially approached Axminster Property about a small ground floor unit but quickly recognised the potential in the first floor.
From potentially taking half the available space, they soon expanded their vision with ideas not just for a café / restaurant but with play and work areas attached.
False ceilings were stripped out to show the true beauty of the place and in doing so the beautiful old windows allowed to let in much more light. With a well fitted kitchen, new electrics and many small touches, the premises are as much an institution as is the business!
The customer’s verdict
Sophie McLachlan led the Waffle input to the build at Trinity House. She says: “The Axminster Property team have been amazing to work with. We shared our vision for ‘Waffle’ in Axminster and they created exactly what we wanted but went far and beyond our wildest dreams. The Waffle House has a stunning home that has been created with care and love by the team and we are so grateful!”
